Richard Morgan Owen
‘Dicky Owen’
Richard Morgan Owen became one of the finest players of Wales’ ‘Golden Era’ of Rugby and is still recognised as one of the most talented no. 9’s that Wales has produced.
Honing his craft at local side Hafod Rovers, he went on to represent Swansea Ruby Club in 1899. Here, he developed a partnership with half-back Dick Jones and their creative brand of rugby earned them the collective nickname of ‘The Dancing Dicks’.
